Used Clothes
This video was inspired by an experience of mine at nine years old. I remember the fear that consumed me as I sat in the hospital waiting room with my brother, not knowing whether my mother would make it through the night. The doctors had warned my father about the risks of toxic shock. Every organ in my mothers body was failing and she had thirty pounds of fluid in her lungs. My father was faced with an impossible decision - to make my mother comfortable for the night or risk overdosing her in the hopes of saving her life, which would probably kill her. Our family was not well off financially, even though my Father worked very hard. I didn't have the luxury of owning trendy clothes like the other kids at school. I literally had one pair of pants. I was bullied relentlessly for this, but what those kids didn't realize was that I didn't care about clothes. I just wanted my mother to come home, which she did by the grace of God after a month in ICU. Remember - you never know what someone else is going through. Always be kind. It costs nothing yet it's everything!
